Mallard Duck.

Being a lover of the more unconventional model, I built this after my divorce about 22 years ago. Money being a bit tight back then I bought this decoy duck from Scats Country Store for £3.50. Most of the other components were found in my "bits box". The motor is a 360 size; battery at the time was a 6v car race pack, and it was a very tight fit to get the electrics in. It has been upgraded in recent years with smaller radio gear and li-po battery. I had never seen this done before and I believe mine to have been the first on our pond. Many copies have been made since to a much better spec. I have also used this on our local duck pond. -- funniest quote from a young child feeding the ducks -- "Mummy, why has that duck got a piece of wire coming out of its head"?.

p.s. -- mine was a drake -- it got sunk once when another male took offence and attacked it. They can be quite vicious.
