No matter how often you've seen it, the Matchstick Fleet always impresses. |
Ship's of the UK and other Navies each updated to the latest or last refit. |
Something I had not seen before, the Matchstick Armada |

Here we have a simulated Atlantic convoy, with a German Uboat lurking in the background. |
When the Uboat attacks, a Flower Class corvette lays down a smoke screen. |
Whilst trying to hunt down the Uboat. |
She sets off depth charges (see the movie) |
The next part of the performance featured two large models of World War 1 Battle-Cruisers |
Low on supplies a German Warship seeks shelter |
But she is being pursued by an English Warship |
Which closes in... |
and opens fire. |
The German Warship responds... |
... with loud gunfire! |
But she is damaged and set alight |
And waves a white flag! |
The two ships come together |
And their crews emerge! |
And take a bow. |
The only radio controlled boats that use voice commands and human servos! |
Steeering is by a mast head camera and a TV. |
A Lunchtime break allowed a visit to the Royal Navy's reserve Model Ship collection. |
