The July issue of Marine Modeller International featured an article by David McNair-Taylor on his build of a Type 45 "Daring" Class air defence Destroyer HMS Dauntless. David's article was also the main cover story for the issue using one of a set of photos taken on 7th April and submitted to the magazine; here are some of the other photos. We couldn't put them on the web site until now in case MMI wanted to use them.

Divers from Calshot Sub Aqua Club recovered David McNair-Taylor's sunken warship from the pond. Hit by a sudden squall, the newly completed model had capsized on her maiden voyage on the 2nd of June. Attempts to trawl the pond having failed, permission was obtained for the dive. Despite the zero visibility under water, a finger tip search in circles around a marker buoy detected the model which was recovered intact.
