Warmer weather and the car park is re-emerging from the pond! The last two weeks have been marked by the maiden voyages of three beautiful square riggers: the Clippers "Caliph" (Allan Read) and "Margaret" (Reg Radley), and the brig "Marie Sophie" (Harold Hartigan). Meanwhile, Dave Edwards "Livonia" was there to represent an older generation of models. Edwin Metcalfe is bravely sailing his part built Shelduck (admittedly with reduced rig). And Brian Rapley's U'Boat lurks in the depths...

At last some sunshine and some slight warmth to bring Club members out of hibernation. Here is Alan Bond's "Sirius" not yet sporting a sound unit, and Steve French's "Yarra" with some powerful water monitors - bring a towel when you next visit the pond! We also did a photo shoot of David McNair-Taylor's "HMS Dauntless"... the photos will appear here once we know if MMI want to use any of them for a forthcoming issue.

The Surface Warship Association exhibited some of their models in "Action Stations", Portsmouth Historic Dockyard on week end of 9/10 March as part of the Second World War event to commemorate the 72nd Anniversary of bomb damage to boathouse 6 (now the home of Action Stations). More...

The Wyeforce tug, operated by Itchen Marine is the original for the "Southampton" RTR model and also a Model Slipway kit(see Ken Goulds article in the summer 2012 SRCMBC newsletter). The photos show her at the mouth of the Itchen, returning to her American Wharf base.
