Pricing Policy: For photos supplied to SRCMBC members, all the proceeds will go to the RNLI (lets face it, I enjoy taking the photos and, if you didn't build the models, I couldn't photograph them!). For non-members there's a 50% increase in cost to cover my overheads (ink, paper, etc.), otherwise the rest goes to the RNLI. Quoted prices assume that photos are collected at the pond, mailing costs are extra, email me and I'll give a quote.

Printing Process: The photos that I supply are printed using a photo-quality inkjet printer onto Premium Photo Paper. Normally I use borderless printing but prints with a white border can be produced if requested. Do note that the inks used by inkjet printers are chemical dyes which can fade. To achieve the longest print life, the print should be displayed in a glass frame out of the sun, or in a plastic sleeve or photo album. This should easily provide satisfactory longevity for almost everyone.

Other Possibilities: For archival quality photos, real photographic prints can be produced using the commercial service "PhotoBox", if you are interested in this possibility email me to discuss. Photobox can also provide services like A3 or A2 prints, photos on canvas, coffee mugs, T-shirts, and so on... My cost for this is the PhotoBox price (including their postage costs) plus £1 to cover my work in uploading the photo and placing the order. Again this surcharge goes to the RNLI. If you are ordering large prints I will offer guidance on whether a specific photo will look OK when enlarged. Photobox produce high quality products (we use them for the annual club calendar) but, obviously, the price is higher for one off items.

Cropping (i.e. what you see in the picture): The photos displayed on the web site are cropped to 6"x4". If you order other sizes the cropping will be different. A4 and 7"x5" are close in proportion to 6"x4" and will usually look very similar. 10"x8" is somewhat different but maybe OK, sometimes it's better! For an 10"x8" I print on A4 and then cut the photo down so a precise size is not guaranteed (but it should be good to better than 1mm).

Print Quality: Do remember that if you download images from our web site and print them yourself you will mostly end up with inferior resolution. Even the larger images in the web site photo albums are of limited resolution (width 640 pixels only) to give a quick web site response. Where available, the "Higher Resolution" images are designed to allow printing at 6" x 4" size (1800 pixels in width) but for enlargements I use the full resolution images which are around 4 times better resolution and have a much larger range of colour shades. Those ordering prints have expressed amazement at the sharpness and detail of the photos they have received.
