A mild day with an increasing, gusty southerly wind. A young swan was an unusual visitor to the pond. While the pond's fish attract herons and cormorants, and geese use the pond while grazing nearby, the general lack of pond weed means that Setley Pond is less inviting to ducks and swans.

Thena short autumn hea twave to start October which brought a host of members to the pond! A good selection of sailing vessels enjoyed the moderate breeze.

After a slow start, activity at the pond increased through the morning. Graham Coombs was tuning a new yacht, Arthur Shannon's Whaling Boat searched in vai n for whales. A welcome bonus are some photos of John Edwards "HMS Stormcloud" taken by Mark Husand back in 2007.

Plus, the 15th September was a rare, calm day for the steam launch "Alexandra" to have a short cruise "under new management" as they say!

	Lymington Show 2011 (View album of all photos)	The Club Charity Exhibition in aid of the RNLI and "Help for Heroes" provided a fantastic show at the Lymington Masonic Hall on Saturday, September 3rd: 112 Model Boats on display, videos and model demonstrations!

Perhaps the most unusual is Mike Sheppard's model of the first paddle ship which Mike has nicknamed "The Beast"!
