What was new during August 2009?

N.B. references to "Latest Photos gallery", "Members Adverts", etc. will be out of date! However the photos and movies referred to can now be found in the relevant Member's or Boat Type albums.
31st August 2009 I know that many of us are interested in scale model boats because we have previously been involved with the full size versions. In the 2009 SRCMBC summer newsletter I asked that members who have links with "Ships and the Sea" to send me information on their experiences. The replies I have had so far are now on the site and make fascinating reading. Have a look! But I know there are many more members with stories to tell; please get in touch.
30th August 2009 In our latest photos gallery, on 30th August, 2009, an impressive ARTR model of HMS Hood put into service by David McNair-Taylor, a German harbour Police Launch still in build, Don Brazier's inboard powered speedoat, and Ken Carter's "Sparerib" makes a welcome return to the pond.
25th August 2009 Results of the Solent Cup Steering Competition (23rd August 2009) are in our Latest Events gallery. Andy Griggs triumphed, with David McNair-Taylor and Andy Davis not too far behind.
20th August 2009 Two new photo sessions... Photos from Alan Bond of Allan Read's model of "Bluebird of Chelsea" taken on the 13th August, then from today, Arthur Shannon's "Emden", and "Blue Streak" and "Nordkap" braving the strong winds.
17th August 2009 Seeing double at the pond on Sunday, 16th August, plus the availability of SRCMBC flags fom BECC on our members apparel and other products" page.
10th August 2009 Photos at the pond on Sunday 9th August in our latest photos album include Richard Coombs' minesweeper, "HMS Acute" and destroyer, "HMS Cavalier". Other models new to this web site are Alan Furness's Pilot Boat 03, and Andy Davis' classic steam yacht "Skean Dhu".
3rd August 2009 Photos taken at Lymington Lifeboat day on 2nd August are in our Latest Events gallery. Due to various unavoidable circumstances we had a smaller than usual number of models on display but the visitors seemed to enjoy what they saw!
