What was new during March 2009?

N.B. references to "Latest Photos gallery", "Members Adverts", etc. will be out of date! However the photos and movies referred to can now be found in the relevant Member's or Boat Type albums.
31st March Of the 26 kits offered by Peter Gargan on our Members Adverts page only 4 now remain unsold. Peter has reduced the price of these and says he will donate 50% of the proceeds to the club if he can sell by the end of April. The "All boats" photo gallery has been updated to include recently photographed models.
30th March 2009 We've added in some photos taken on the 19th March by Alan Bond of Allan Read's unusual "wishbone" schooner in our Latest Photos at Setley Gallery. There is also a movie available in our Movie Galleries. Also an additional movie in Tony Crollie's ingenious models gallery of his Submarine.
29th March 2009 Some photos taken today at the pond in our Latest Photos at Setley Gallery; also the About the Club has been updated to include the Charities that we support, and our attempts to inspire future generations. And we have a new Ruff cartoon!
27th March 2009 We are introducing a new feature whereby owners can add in comments on their models which are featured in the photo galleries. Go to the Photo Galleries by Owner section to see what contributions exist so far (marked by a "(+)" sign). We believe that this brings the photo galleries alive and, if you agree, please send me comments on your own models.
26th March 2009 Alan Bond's Sound Unit is now demonstrated in it's Steam version as well as the petrol varient. A Diesel demonstration is coming, in the meantime hear (and see) it in use in the movie of Don Brazier's Marignon trawler.
23nd March 2009 In our Latest Photos at Setley Gallery are a few photos from yesterday: Terry Spurge's US Tug "Jim Wilder No. 2"; Alan Furness' motor/sailer; and more of Andrew and Lorna's Perkassa. It was a beautiful day and I was too interested in exploiting the good sailing wind to take more photos!
17th March 2009 A movie of Don Brazier's Marignon trawler which also demonstrates Alan Bond's Sound Unit in it's Diesel version. For the petrol version see Ken Dyer's Phoenix in action.
16th March 2009A movie of the 2009 Highcliffe Exhibition, taken by Louis Vaisey on our Movie Gallery page plus a movie of Alan Bond's "Versatile Marine Sound Unit" (it's an all action movie and has proved very popular on YouTube!). The site is also undergoing some maintenance, tell me if something doesn't work. Members: subscriptions are now due, see the Club Notices page.
15th March 2009 Sunday, and the sun is out; club members stagger to the pond after the efforts of yesterday's Exhibition. Two new boats and some older acquaintances are in our Latest Photos at Setley Gallery.
14th March 2009 Photographs of the club's Annual Show in aid of the RNLI in Highcliffe on Saturday, 14th March.
12th March 2009 The new Rescue Boat "Phoenix" was put through her paces (as shown on the Home Page) by her constructor and Master Ken Dyer; we'll have more photos soon but at present the emphasis is for preparations for the Annual Model Boat Show in aid of the RNLI at Highcliffe on Saturday( again see the Home Page).
5th March 2009 Thursday, but not much boating activity at the pond, possibly because it was snowing (where's that Groundhog!). There are some photos on our Latest Photos page.
Prompted by our many views from around the world the SRCMBC site has gone mutilingual (thanks to "Google Translate"). The translation is automatic so no doubt there will be mistakes, but it will be interesting to see how much this new facility is used.
2nd March 2009 Sunday, 1st March, and the spring weather brings Club Members out from hibernation. We have the Setley Harbour with new quays (thanks to Peter Soffe Construction Ltd.) ...and yes! the Club has a new rescue boat (thanks once more to Ken Dyer); there's a movie and you can also see photos on our Latest Photos page which also features Reg Radley's new Volvo Open 70, Don Brazier's Speedboat, Alison S. Canaby sailed back from New Zealand by John Cooper, and Reg Radley's completed Nordkap (admittedly photo'd in late February).
