What was new during October 2008?

N.B. references to "Latest Photos gallery", "Members Adverts", etc. will be out of date! However the photos and movies referred to can now be found in the relevant Member's or Boat Type albums.
28th October 2008 A new "Now for Something Completely Different" page features surfing at Bournemouth when the surf was really good!
22nd October 2008 A major update of the Photo Galleries. During the summer my effort has gone into developing the club's web site so the "Recent Photos" have remained recent photos... going right back to August. However, they are now distributed between the rightful owners, model types, etc. There are almost certainly mistakes, if so let me know! Also the "All_boats" gallery has been brought up to date.
20th October 20008 On the Home Page: News from the pond includes wading, sinking, and swimming, and Peter Oram's solution to wreck recovery. Plus, there's an advert for the 2009 Setley Pond Calendar. There is a further revision to Alan Bond's detailed information on his Versatile Marine Engine Sound Unit in our Hints and Tips section.
18th October 2008 Welcome to the Sailing Section of the club who now have their Home Page and there are some photo galleries of their yachts in action.
15th October 2008 In our Hints and Tips section, a description by Rich Reith of his build of a Griffin 600 Hovercraft; also we are begining to transfer the movie files to YouTube, please tell me if you have any problems caused by this.
13th October 2008 Photos from the 12th October in our Latest Setley Photos Gallery. These include John Cooper's "Peggy", Barry Thomas' stern wheel paddle steamer "Creole Queen" and also a harbour tug, Ray Hellicar's "Lady of the Lake" steam launch.
12th October 2008 Photos taken on the 2nd and 9th October are in our Latest Setley Photos Gallery. The Member's information on frequencies (and the frequency table) has been updated and a copy of the recall notice for early Futaba 2.4 GHz sets included.
6th October 2008 The three movies taken during Model Boat Weekend at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard (see 27th Sept below) are now available from YouTube via our Movie Gallery which has been re-ordered so the newest movies come first! Alan Bond's detailed information on his Versatile Marine Engine Sound Unit has been revised to better match the kit now available from Technobots.
